The Jackson Heights Bike Bus is a volunteer-run effort to offer schools in its community an alternative form of transportation to-and-from school that is safe and timely. This is a group ride for students, parents, school staff, and volunteers of all ages and abilities. Utilizing the 1.2 miles along 34th Avenue Open Streets on Wednesdays (weather permitting), - starting back on May 8th - we will conduct a round-robin continuous loop with 4 stops that connect to 6 schools. The bike bus will do its best to ensure not only on-time arrival but also regard safety with utmost importance.

Leaving from 82nd Street Westbound (towards 69th Street) at 7:20AM, we will travel directly to our 70th Street stop (PS 398Q) to arrive by 7:30AM, and make a stop to allow students and parents to exit the ride, others to join and to begin our Eastbound return on 34th Avenue. The next stop is 74th Street (IS 230) arriving at around 7:35AM, and continue to our 81st Street stop (IS 145 and PS 212Q), to continue Eastbound towards Junction Blvd with an arrival time of 7:50AM at our 94th Street stop (IS 280 and PS 149). We will continue riding until 8:20AM for those riders who may be running late or would like to go for an additional lap.

Look for the school bus yellow basket! Riders 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent and if under 18, a helmet is required (still highly encouraged for adults too though!) Personal speakers, noise makers, rollerbladers, and skaters are all welcome!
